What drives performance?

My life has provided some fascinating experiences.[picapp align=”right” wrap=”false” link=”term=john+godina&iid=1702688″ src=”9/3/d/a/US_Track_and_e647.jpg?adImageId=12494761&imageId=1702688″ width=”380″ height=”260″ /]

I have spent a lot of time ” inside the ropes” with close-up, unfiltered access to some incredibly successful people and organizations.  I have worked closely with world-class athletes and coaches.  I have collaborated with cutting edge physicians and researchers.  I spent a year as a civilian contractor at the United States Military Academy (West Point).  And, I have been fortunate enough to work for and with some enormously successful entrepreneurs.

And this has left me with one overriding question as I meet new people from all walks of life – what drives their performance?

There are as many blogs in the metaverse as there are snowflakes in Canada exploring issues of leadership, personal development, organizational development, management strategies, and the like.  Add this one to the drift.

My intention is to use this as a broad canvas to explore these issues.  I’ve seen the statistics of blog readership and am aware that my biggest supporter is likely to be – me.  So, I’ll be writing here primarily as a resource to help me develop my own understanding of some of these topics as I take a deep dive into some of complexities that drive performance – for the individual, the organization, and the larger society that we infest.

I reserve the right to change my mind, to change my direction, and to do pretty much whatever I feel like as we, Constant Reader, explore this Big Blue Marble.
